CLEVELAND, Ohio — Earlier this month, the Browns tweeted out highlights of D’Ernest Johnson’s first career start. It was Week 7, a Thursday night game against the Broncos. Nick Chubb was out with a calf injury and Kareem Hunt was on injured reserve. Case Keenum was starting in place of Baker Mayfield.
Johnson carried the ball 22 times for 146 yards in a Browns win. He kicked off the scoring with a 4-yard run on their opening possession. He accounted for three of the Browns’ four longest plays of the night, two 20-yard runs and an 18-yard catch and run.
