King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are on a State Visit to Cyprus at the invitation of President Nikos Christodoulides on March 4th and March 5th, with a focus on cooperation in the areas of safety, science, culture and sustainability.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima began their State Visit with an Official Welcome Ceremony hosted by President Nikos Christodoulides and Philippa Karsera at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia before a wreath-laying ceremony, a meeting of the delegations and a press conference.
Later, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited the House of Representatives, the parliament of Cyprus, and then the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) and the Zenon center in Larnaca as well as the potato grower Sun Potatoes.
In the evening, President Nikos Christodoulides hosted a State Banquet for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, with speeches by both the King and President.
Queen Máxima wore the Dutch Diamond Bandeau.
