Danish State Visit to the Vatican, 1975

Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark had a Formal Audience with Pope Paul VI in the Vatican Library on this day in 1975, 50 years ago, during their State Visit to the Vatican.

Pope Paul VI received Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark and had an exchange of gifts in the Vatican Library inside the Apostolic Palace.

Queen Margrethe wore Queen Alexandrine’s Diamond Drop Tiara with the Diamond Rivière, Earrings, Pendant and Brooches from the Antique Diamond Parure, Diamond Floral Bracelet and King Frederik IX’s Portrait Order.
