Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran and Empress Farah hosted King Frederik IX, Queen Ingrid and Princess Benedikte of Denmark on their State Visit to Iran on this day in 1963, which followed the Shah’s State Visit in 1959.

The highlight of the visit was a State Banquet hosted by the Shah (in the Order of the Elephant) and Empress (wearing her Noor-ol-Ain Tiara) for the King, Queen (in the Danish Pearl Poiré Tiara and Parure and Queen Josefina’s Diamond Brooches), and Princess Benedikte (wearing her Floral Tiara) at the Golestan Palace in Tehran.
Following a Dance Performance and a visit to see the Iranian Crown Jewels, King Frederik, Queen Ingrid (wearing the Danish Ruby Parure), and Princess Benedikte (in her Floral Tiara) hosted a spectacular Return Banquet for the Shah and Empress Farah (wearing Princess Soraya’s Emerald Tiara).
