A striking pave-set Diamond Maple Leaf with a gold and diamond ball or insect set in the centre, the Diamond Leaf Brooch is of unknown provenance but was likely acquired form a modern Norwegian jeweller and may even be a loan.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit debuted the Diamond Leaf Brooch when she was seen alighting from the Royal Yacht Norge to attend a Gala Dinner at Drottningholm Palace ahead of the Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling, when it was paired with the black pearl version of her Pendant Earrings.
Three years later, Crown Princess Mette-Marit paired the Diamond Leaf Brooch with the Diamond Daisy Bandeau and Crown Princess Märtha’s Silver Wedding Earrings for Queen Beatrix’s Abdication Dinner at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam on the eve of the Inauguration of King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands. That was the Brooch’s last public sighting and it has yet to make a reappearance.
