Bolin Sapphire and Diamond Necklace

Estimate: CHF 200,000 – CHF 300,000

From a Princely Family

A Bolin Sapphire and Diamond Necklace set with oval and cushion-shaped sapphires, old-cut diamonds, gold, detachable sapphire links, 1900s unsigned, workmaster’s mark of Vasily Finikov, St Petersburg, scratched inventory number ‘43348’.

The Bolin Sapphire Necklace of Princess Alexandra of Hanover, Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin is going on Auction from the estate of her granddaughter, Princess Elisabeth zu Ysenburg-Büdingen-Wächtersbach.

A Fabergé Chalcedony and Diamond Cape Clasp, each clasp of barbed quatrefoil form, centring a large cabochon mecca stone within a rose-cut diamond-set rim, in an openwork rose-cut diamond-set gold mount (Russian marks for St Petersburg), with a hook and loop on each clasp, maker’s mark (August Holmström), St Petersburg, 1899-1903.

By family tradition, this jewel was acquired directly from Bulgari.

A Fabergé late 19th century transformable Diamond Necklace, with old, rose-cut and round diamonds, gold (Russian marks) and silver, pendant detachable to be worn as a brooch, secondary diamond lines detach for alternative necklace composition, circa 1890, maker’s mark (August Holmström to the pin and loop fitting), St Petersburg, fitted original wooden Fabergé case.
