Princess Kate looked gorgeous in green at the Irish Guards’ St Patrick’s Day parade which was held in the capital on Monday. The Princess of Wales, who is Colonel of the Regiment, perfectly accessorised the look with an incredible pair of diamond earrings.
Kate, 43, wore a pair of custom earrings from Kiki McDonough which are worth £3,500. The design features a green tourmaline and amethyst stones, which are surrounded by diamonds set in yellow gold.
Princess Kate first wore them back in 2016 during a royal tour of India. Reports suggest that they were from the jewellers’ special editions collection and they made especially for Kate by Kiki to mark the birth of Princess Charlotte.
Kiki McDonough no longer stocks the exact version Princess Kate wore as nearly 10 years have passed since they were produced. However, this green amethyst oval and cushion cut design by the label creates the same luxurious silhouette. They have a very similar shape with a graduated two-stone drop, but the outline diamonds are in 18ct White Gold – rather than yellow gold so they give more of a silver finish.
These Layla earrings are formed by two small gold hoops and a round solid green drop. They are elegantly crafted from a 22-carat gold plating on brass. These earrings don’t feature glittering diamonds and are more understated, which means you can wear them for any occasion. They also come in alternative colours of champagne, pearl or a neutral brown.
Just days ago Princess Kate wore a pair of lapis hoop earrings from Shyla at a Six Nations rugby match. She has the same design in a pearl option which you can buy here. They have quickly become a go-to staple in her closet. And we love the chic design and how the pearls pop against the gold hoop.
These Pyramid earrings from Missoma are another affordable alternative, which feature a sleek charm and amazonite gemstone. The earrings are a classic piece with a textured hoop design. The bright gold finish perfectly pops against the green gem in the centre.
The hoops are made from 18ct recycled gold-plated vermeil on recycled sterling silver and rhodium-plated sterling silver. Missoma offers a two-year warranty for peace of mind. What’s more, Princess Kate is a huge fan of Missoma and wore a design from its collection when she visited the Royal Marsden Hospital at the start of this year.
The Siren Wire earrings from Monica Vinader are a great purse-friendly alternative in a slightly different style. Princess Kate first wore this exact design in 2016 during her Royal Canada Tour and Monica Vinader named them her “favourite hand-cut gemstone earrings”. Not only are they simple, but the green stone makes them stand out. You can also choose from a rose gold finish and an aquamarine or black onyz gemtstone.
If you want to buy earrings from the same designer as Kate at a slightly lower price point, then these green amethyst and diamond earrings from Kiki McDonough are ideal. These are a simple large stud, rather than Kate’s double drop design, but the colour match is near identical. Each earring features a large round amethyst gemstone which is surrounded by smaller diamonds. It is also set in 18-carat yellow gold encasing.
