Another day, another engagement for one of the busiest members of the Royal Family, Princess Anne.

The Princess Royal visited the new UCL East Campus on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford for a celebration of scientific innovation in London.

During her visit, the Princess met Autonomous Systems researchers who are using artificial intelligence (AI) to train robots for search and rescue operations and robots that will make surgeries safer and more precise. In addition, Princess Anne watched a demonstration by UCL robotics.

In her role as patron, the Princess attended the WISE Awards. The awards are to honour and celebrate women in STEM and their achievements as well as recognising organisations making strides to changes in STEM industry gender balance.

The Princess Royal’s WISE Lifetime Achievement and The Princess Royal’s WISE Rising Star Award were awarded during the ceremony. The lifetime award is for a woman has achieved long-term success working for a number of years. The Rising Star Award is for a woman making great strides early on in her STEM career.
